About UVMG
In 1994, Donald W. Ayres, MD moved back to the Upper Valley by way of Sioux City, Iowa. He was appointed to staff at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital (APD) and simultaneously founded Upper Valley Neurology (UVN) offering his expertise in neurology and subspecialty Multiple Sclerosis (MS) care with the support of just one employee. Four years later in 1998, Richard L. Saunders, MD joined UVN, adding neurosurgical services and UVN became Upper Valley Neurology Neurosurgery (UVNN).
In 2006, Upper Valley Ear Nose & Throat (UVENT) joined with UVNN and began doing business as Upper Valley Medical Group (UVMG).
UVMG expanded into a leading multidisciplinary practice with five providers and 20 support staff. We offer specialty care and services in Neurology, Neurosurgery, ENT, Sleep Medicine and Surgical Pain Management with inpatient hospital services at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital and New London Hospital.
Providers at UVMG have been featured on the Discovery Channel, held a position as president of the New England Neurosurgical Society, fostered development of a state-of-the-art cervical spine surgery program and directed the regional multidisciplinary multiple sclerosis center. Each provider has a subspecialty and peer recognition with credentials and experience that affirm UVMG patients receive the most advanced level of care.
UVMG has three office locations with the primary office in Lebanon, NH and satellite offices in New London, NH and Concord, NH.
